📝 What to Expect in Your First Therapy Session
Starting therapy can feel like a big unknown. You may feel nervous, uncertain, or even question whether you “really need” to talk to someone. That’s okay - t’s a very human response.
In our first session together, there is no pressure to explain everything perfectly or to "get it right." We’ll take our time. You’ll be invited to speak freely about what’s been on your mind, whether it’s a clear issue like anxiety, low mood, or a more vague sense that something just doesn’t feel right lately.
My role isn’t to judge, diagnose quickly, or offer fast solutions. Instead, I’ll be listening carefully - not only to what you say, but how you say it, and how your story connects to your emotional life.
We’ll talk about what brought you here, and what you hope to gain from therapy. I may ask gentle questions to understand your history, your relationships, and how you experience yourself. But nothing is rushed.
The first session is the beginning of something important - a space that’s just for you, where we begin to build a relationship based on trust, reflection, and curiosity. I’ll be here to hold that space with warmth and presence.
